Automotive Technician/Mechanic
Pay: $24.00 - $35.00 per hour
We are looking for a skilled and experienced mechanic to join our growing team. You will be responsible for troubleshooting vehicle issues and performing repairs. Must have own tools to perform duties, reliable transportation to work and a valid drivers license. Being punctual is an absolute must. If you are on time everyday of the week, you will receive a on-time bonus on top of a weekly performance bonus.
About us: Middletown Transmission has been open since 1987. We do a lot of transmission R&R and general repairs. As of last year, we are under new ownership and we are looking for solid mechanics with proven experience to build and grow with. Currently there are two technicians with us and we are looking for 1 or 2 more reliable mechanics. Please reach out with any questions you may have.
Responsibilities
- Inspect vehicle engines/transmissions and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accurately
- Remove driveshafts, transmissions, rear differentials, etc.
- Conduct routine maintenance work (replacing fluids, lubricating parts, brakes, etc.)
- Repair or replace necessary parts and fix issues
- Keep work stations organized and free of fluids on the ground
- Positive attitude is a must
Skills
- Must have proven experience as auto mechanic (5 years or more would be ideal)
- Must be familiar with transmissions
- Must be knowledgeable of routine vehicle maintenance
- Perform quality inspections
- Working knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and methods
- Ability to handle various tools and shop equipment
- Willingness to observe all safety precautions for protections against accidents, dangerous fluids, chemicals etc.
- Good physical condition
- High school diploma is preferred; Certification from a vocational school or completion of apprenticeship is a definite plus
- Valid certification (e.g ASE) is a definite plus
